Scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology e.V. (INP Greifswald) in the field of Plasma decontamination

Uta Schnabel received her diploma degree in biology from the University of Rostock, Germany in 2005. She worked on microbiology and plant genetics, especially aerobic microorganisms of rhizosphere and cytoplasmatic male sterility at the PEF-plasma of Heliantus spp., respectively.

From 2006 to 2008, she was scientist at the hospital Klinikum Großhardern in Munich, Germany, where she investigated the JNK/Jun signalpathway in human liver cells with molecular biology, Proteomics and in vivo (animal trials).

Since 2009 she is scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology e.V. (INP Greifswald) in the field of Plasma decontamination. Her recent research deals with decontamination of medical devices, food, feed and its packaging. Since 2015, she is working also on the scientific question of non-thermal plasma decontamination of biofilms.
