Italy, and specifically Genoa in the Liguria region, will be hosting the XXVIIth International EUCARPIA Symposium Section Ornamentals, from 2nd to 5th July 2023. Genova is a historic port city nestled at the top of the Riviera Ligure arc on the shores of the Mediterranean. It is the capital of the region where floriculture plays an important role impacting the national economy. In the Ligurian Riviera, illustrious families and landscape architects have created splendid gardens; botanists and agronomists have introduced countless species to acclimate; breeders have created new hybrids and selected new varieties. Alongside the great variety of ornamental production, Liguria has natural conditions, with three biogeographical regions (Mediterranean, Alpine and Continental) that determine an exceptionally rich biodiversity, to be protected, but also to be enhanced.
